"DIAMOND OF THE ALPS" DOESN'T SOUND EXACTLY MODEST. NEVERTHELESS, WE THINK THE REGION FULLY DESERVES THIS NAME: JUST LIKE A DIAMOND, GURGL COMBINES RARITY WITH EXCLUSIVITY. And once you see the mountains sparkling in the winter sun, you will truly understand how the name came about. Gurgl is home to one of the highest ski areas in the Alps (1,800 - 3,080 meters) and reliably snow-sure from November through May. A picture-book mountain backdrop and an atmosphere that still feels a bit like in the old days. In summer, the valley becomes a high alpine hiking paradise with pristine trails, crystal clear mountain lakes and three-thousand-meter high peaks as far as the eye can see.
