Gurgl im summer: mountains,
nature and pure exploration!
Obergurgl is hiking
for nature lovers
The trails around Obergurgl lead deep into the mountains. Easy high-altitude paths offer sweeping views across the Ötztal Alps. Challenging tours take you up to 3,000 meters above sea level. Over 250 summits exceeding three thousand meters line the valley. The sound of rushing mountain brooks, blooming alpine meadows and the silence of the glaciers accompany you every step of the way. Thanks to the already included Summer Card, you can use the mountain lifts free of charge and easily reach the most beautiful viewing points.
Biking in Ötztal - from
gentle to high alpine
Scenic Ötztal ranks among the most varied biking regions in the Alps. Trails are winding through quiet side valleys and across alpine meadows, rewarding cyclists with fabulous panoramic views right near Alpenresidenz. You can choose from a total of 850 kilometers of trails! For all those seeking a challenge, there are demanding routes with significant altitude gain, culminating in the legendary Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road, one of the most iconic road cycling passes in the Alps.
Langtalereckhütte
at 2,450 meters
The hut, also known as Karlsruher Hütte, is one of our favorite summer destinations. The trail is easy, family-friendly and can even be mastered by mountain bike. At the top, a view of Gurgl's Glacier is waiting for you. So does the three-course dinner featuring Tirolean dishes made with ingredients from the hut's own farm and a surprisingly extensive wine list. Those who want to go even higher can continue climbing up to Hochebenkamm ridge, Seelenkögele peak or Langtalerjochspitze summit.
